report

Resource Date:

September 19 2008

The documents composing the Best Practices in Developing Anti-Oppressive, Culturally Competent Supportive
Housing project are the outcome of a one-year research project undertaken by the Supportive Housing and
Diversity Group (SHAD), with funding from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and from CAMH
as the lead agency. SHAD was established in 2002 as a multi-agency working group of housing providers and
support service providers with the goal of improving housing stability and reducing homelessness for racialised
and ethnic minority clients with mental health and addiction issues. The attached document provides background to this project.
